In a quiet location, near the west walls of the town, Palazzo Giogiò has a distinguised past, it was owned by the family of St Catherine of Siena and then by Giangastone de Medici whose imposing bust is above the entrance. This historic building hosts these two luxury flats:
Apartment Padronale is ideal for 4 people. It is a comfortable and very suggestive flat, composed by a dining room and a TV room with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom both with bathroom with bathtub. Each bedroom can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. An additional studio area is the ideal place where guests can relax reading or listening to music. Near the studio there is a third bathroom with shower. At guests' disposal there is a laundry equipped with washing machine.
The famous ruby red Vino Nobile wine of Montepulciano can be bought at a shop in the Palazzo and there are numerous 'cantine' or cellars all over town where it can be sampled and bought. Steps away from the Palazzo is Piazza Grande, the main square with fine cathedral. From the tower of the Palazzo Comunale there are magnificient views over the Val d’Orcia, to Pienza and Monticchiello to Monte Amiata and on a clear day the towers of Siena. All elegant boutiques, restaurants, bars are within very easy valking distance of the Palazzo.
Montepulciano hosts numerous live festivals. Piazza Grande is one of the venues for the international classical and contemporary music, dance, theatre and figurative arts festlval 'Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte'. The Festival of the Assumption is celebrated with light opera in the town squares. Proccessions in historical dress precede Montepulciano's Palio -the Bravio delle Botti last Sunday in August) when teams from each district or 'contrada' race a barrel trhough the streets. For the active ones, mountain bikes can be hired and there are tennis courts. There is a hot spring swimming pool at Sant'Albinio (approx. 3kms) and open and covered swimmimg pools at Montepulciano Stazione or Chianciano (8kms) as well as hot-spring waters at Bagno Vignoni (20 km).
Montepulciano lies in the very heart of southern Tuscany and is an ideal base from which to visit its attractions Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico, Bagno Vignoni, Chiusi, Lake Trasimeno are all within easy reach.

A coffe bar and restaurant has recently opened in PIAZZA SAN FRANCESCO the piazza next to the building. It is a great place where to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, with great food, fantastic view on the panorama facing the valley and good jazz concerts (litterally 30 seconds from your flat!). Steps away from the Palazzo is Piazza Grande, the main square with fine cathedral.
